Lamborghini expects a series of “challenges” at Spa
After what they consider as "positive" beginnings, the members of Lamborghini hope to continue on the same path at Spa. This race will help them prepare for Le Mans.
A timid start to the season, but Iron Lynx, which enters a Lamborghini in the Hypercar class, sees it as positive and encouraging. After finishing 13th in Qatar and 12th in Imola, the team wants to aim higher.
For this, the trio Bortolotti-Kvyat-Caldarelli will have to tame the legendary Spa circuit and its 7 kilometers in length. In Belgium, however, they will have to deal with some changes. Present since the beginning of the season, Edoardo Mortara must make way for Andrea Caldarelli. Engaged in Formula E, he will not be able to be present at Spa.
The team will also have to adapt to the new BoP for this third meeting of the season. The Lamborghini has gained one kilogram and has had 2 kW of power taken away.
Regardless, for the team as well as for the rest of the field, this event will serve to prepare for the 24 Hours of Le Mans next month.
Spa-Francorchamps is a legendary circuit, but also very tricky in many ways. After a positive start to the season, we are aware of the challenges that await us this weekend, and we are looking forward to continuing the work we have done so far. The race takes us to the key phase of preparation for Le Mans and it will be useful to perform well at Spa to gain motivation and momentum, as well as to have Andrea with us in anticipation of the effort of the two cars in June, explains Emmanuel Esnault, the race director at Iron Lynx.
