Ranking: Four GP ahead for Max Verstappen, Hamilton closes in on Alonso after Belgium
Max Verstappen's latest victory allows him to further extend his lead in the championship. He now has 125 points more than his teammate. Lewis Hamilton is just one point behind Fernando Alonso.
In front, it’s the same story at every Grand Prix. Max Verstappen keeps accumulating points and further extends his lead. With the victory in both races this weekend, the Dutchman now has a 125-point advantage over Sergio Perez in second place. This means he has a four-race lead over his rival.
Behind, the battle for third place is likely to be interesting to follow at Zandvoort after the break. With his fourth place in the main race and the fastest lap, Lewis Hamilton is now just one point behind Fernando Alonso. The British driver has 148 points compared to 149 for the Spanish driver.
Russell and Leclerc neck and neck
Charles Leclerc has caught up to George Russell, with 99 points each. The two men now lead Carlos Sainz (92 points), who was forced to retire after a collision with Oscar Piastri. Esteban Ocon, thanks to his eighth place finish, regains the advantage over the Australian, who called it quits after the first lap.
