Standings after the Bahrain Grand Prix: Red Bull is already showing its status as a leader
With a double from its drivers in Bahrain, Red Bull is already leading the constructors' championship, 17 points ahead of Ferrari.
We’re off like last year. Right from the first race, Red Bull showed up. Leading, of course. The Austrian team monopolized the first two places in this Bahrain Grand Prix. The team sponsored by the famous energy drink brand is therefore leading the 2024 F1 standings.
With 44 units, Red Bull leads Ferrari by 17 points already. Ferrari has 27 points. Mercedes ranks third with only 16 units. McLaren (12 points) and Aston Martin (3 points) are the only other forces on the grid to have opened their account in this inaugural race.
The other teams did not score any points: V-CARB, Williams, Haas, Alpine and Stake (Sauber).
On the drivers’ world championship side, Verstappen achieved a hat-trick with pole position, fastest lap in the race, and victory. He therefore scored 26 points on his own today. Sergio Perez is in second place with 18 points ahead of Carlos Sainz with 15 points. Charles Leclerc has 12 points and is ahead of a trio of Britons: Russell, Norris, Hamilton. Piastri in the other McLaren and the two Aston Martin drivers complete the top 10.
See you next Saturday for the continuation of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
