WEC: Doriane Pin officially joins Iron Dames in GT3
The young Frenchwoman will team up with Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting on board the pink Lamborghini number 85.
From LMP2 and GT3. After participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 and the 2023 WEC season, Doriane Pin is changing categories. The French driver has been officially confirmed by her team, the Iron Dames, as part of the crew for this new GT3 season.
The person who is also a junior driver for Mercedes in single-seaters will team up with experienced Sarah Bovy, whose qualifying performances led to three pole positions in 2023. Michelle Gatting, who had announced her intention to continue the journey, has also been confirmed.
The team will field a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 in the LMGT3 category, new for 2024 following the end of the LMGTE classes.
Before Qatar, after Daytona.
The trio’s first race in the World Endurance Championship will take place on March 2nd with the 1,812 kilometers of Qatar. But this is not the team’s first deadline. The Iron Dames have just completed the 24 Hours of Daytona, finishing in sixth place in their category.
“I am very happy with today’s race – 6th place at the Daytona 24 Hours is a great achievement for all of us – we were strong, without making any mistakes, and finished within the lead lap. We have learned a lot as a team and I am excited to continue working hard and achieving even more results with the Iron Dames in the future,” announced Doriane Pin at the finish line.
