The magistrate of Modena in charge of the investigation into the F1 espionage case said of his meeting with McLaren test driver Pedro De La Rosa yesterday that it proved to be very useful and honors the Spanish driver for what he has done for the investigation.
The McLaren driver, whose email exchanges with his teammate Fernando Alonso were used as evidence in the case, spoke with Giuseppe Tibis on Tuesday.
Alonso had already met Tibis on October 9th.
Tibis admitted that his meeting with De La Rosa was very productive, and he said that it is unlikely that Briton Lewis Hamilton will also be questioned.
« De la Rosa was thorough and convincing. He’s a likable person, we spoke in different languages but we understood each other well, » said Tibis via the Gazzetta dello Sport.
I think an important insight into the issue has been raised. After the interviews with Alonso and De La Rosa, we will make a projection of all the material we have in our hands.
« It is likely that within a month, we will hear from other witnesses. Hamilton? His situation is particular, we must exercise caution, at the moment, I can say that the possibility of the British driver being heard is very remote. As for the suspects, the question doesn’t even arise! » concluded Tibis.
