Oliver Jarvis has been selected for the Great Britain team to participate in the next round of the season, the third event of the 2007/2008 A1 Grand Prix championship, in Malaysia.

Jarvis, a 23-year-old Englishman, already raced for the team at the season opener in Zandvoort, Netherlands. For the second meeting of the season, in Brno, Czech Republic, he was then replaced by the more experienced Robbie Kerr.

Although it was Kerr who participated in the last two meetings at the Sepang circuit with the team, in the past, leader Katie Clements preferred to give Jarvis a chance.

« I am very happy to have been chosen by the team to drive in Malaysia, » commented Jarvis.

« Sepang is a fantastic track, and I really enjoyed how last season’s weekend unfolded. »

Regarding the world championship, the British team is currently third, just six points behind the A1 Team New Zealand – tied with the Netherlands.

Jarvis added: « I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel in A1GP, and my goal will obviously be to score a few podiums and even another victory, or even two. »

« I also hope that we can catch up with New Zealand and South Africa [2nd in the championship], as soon as the Italian meeting. » Concluded the Englishman.

Originally from Cambridge, Jarvis secured a test last week during the GP2 tests at Paul Ricard. It is also announced today that he will participate in a Formula 1 testing session on November 21 with McLaren-Mercedes at the Silverstone circuit. More details soon.
