Loeb will test the Renault F1 R27, Kovalainen the Citroen C4 WRC!

Citroën Sport announced today in a telegram that it will participate in an exchange day with the Renault F1 Team on December 5th at the Paul Ricard Circuit.

The two French brands being competitors, it was more than unlikely to see such a situation occur nowadays. But with the sports being different and the drivers motivated, Gille Michel, the sports director of Citroën Sport, accepted the proposal from the Renault F1 Team.

Consequently, the two drivers from each team will exchange their ‘means of transport’ on the Circuit Paul Ricard, in the south of France.

Sébastien Loeb and Dani Sordo will get into a Formula 1 car for the first time, while Heikki Kovalainen will use the C4 WRC. The report does not say whether Fisichella or Piquet will appear in the second C4.

This exchange day will allow close attention to be paid to Loeb’s times. Successful in single-seaters with Pescarolo in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2005 and 2006, the Frenchman has always dreamed of driving a Formula 1 car.
