As in Spain, France, and Japan, Henning Solberg will be discovering the Rally of Ireland, like many other drivers. The number one Stobart M-Sport will also have to get accustomed to a new co-driver: Göran Bergsten. Provisionally called in, he is expected to replace the usual co-driver for the last two rallies of the season.
Cato Menkerud, who usually shares the cockpit of the Ford Focus RS WRC 06 number 10, will stay with his wife Charlotte who is expecting a child.
Simultaneously, the Finnish situation is still unclear: « I really don’t know what to expect », says Henning.
« It will be another new rally for me. I’ve been told that the stages are difficult, very narrow, winding, and fast. If the weather is bad, it can be very slippery. I just want to score some points. On asphalt, I’ve gotten closer to the top 8 this season, and I’ll try to break into it in Ireland. »
Henning Solberg finished ninth in the Rallye de France – Tour de Corse last month and naturally hopes to perform as well as his Japanese podium two weeks ago.
