Singapore announces its main sponsor for 2008

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) has just been officially named the main sponsor at the inauguration of the Singapore Grand Prix.

The event that will be the first F1 Grand Prix to be held at night will take place from September 26 to 28 on a new circuit.

“We are thrilled to sponsor this event, which will be the first night race in F1 history,” said Chua Sock Koong, the head of the SingTel group.

« At SingTel, we constantly strive to be at the forefront of our business by sponsoring events and associations worldwide. It is important to highlight appointments that place innovation at the center of their interests. SingTel shares this vision. »

“The world during this F1 event will be focused on us. SingTel will have a strong international position, and Singapore’s image as an exciting global city will be strengthened,” he continued.

The spokesperson for the Singapore Grand Prix, Beng Ong Seng, added: « Major telecommunications companies in Asia, like SingTel, have strong branding, as well as a powerful regional and international presence. SingTel will therefore be the ideal strategic partner and everyone’s dream sponsor for the upcoming September event. »

« We look forward to working together on a wide range of high-profile activities to prepare for race day, which promises to be one of the highlights of next year’s F1 calendar, » concluded Beng Ong Seng.
