Jenson Button believes that Ross Brawn will be a huge help for the Honda Racing team. The British driver admitted that he is very eager to start working with his new boss.
Brawn will join the Japanese team as team principal after a decade filled with success as technical director at Ferrari.
The Briton believes this arrival will help him bounce back after a gloomy 2007 season, in which he only scored six points.
And Button is happy because he believes that the contribution from Brawn will be very important.
« I am very happy. I think this is what the team needed. The guy really has a lot of experience in F1, » said Button to the reporters at the end of the private testing in Barcelona.
A man cannot represent a team by himself, but I think his contribution, advice, and leadership will make a big difference. He has achieved all this before, and I look forward to working with him.
« I haven’t met him since he became an integral part of the team. I hope to meet him soon. I think everyone is excited about this new appointment, » continued the Briton.
« Ross’s arrival is incredible, but we also have many other people on the team. I expect them to do good work, and Ross will contribute to that. »
Button thinks that Honda is already on the right track after a bad year in 2007.
« This season hasn’t been easy, and the car wasn’t very competitive, but the important thing is to ask the right questions, we’ve made changes and these will contribute to improvement, » added Button.
« We have changed our direction and new ideas will be expressed, particularly in terms of aerodynamics. We are on the right track, and I am happy with how things are going, » he concluded.
