Christian Vietoris and Augusto Farfus will be able to talk about the sensations provided by driving an F1 car.
And for good reason, this week the BMW-Sauber team will reward the two drivers for their 2007 campaigns by allowing them to fulfill a dream as they will drive a 2007 German team’s single-seater.
Vietoris is racing this year in the A1 Grand Prix for Germany. However, the opportunity to drive the F1.07 mainly follows his triumph in the 2006 Formula BMW final.
The Brazilian Augusto Farfus will also have the opportunity to take a few laps.
« For his first year in the WTCC championship, Augusto Farfus impressed us extremely and is already a full member of the German BMW team, » explained Mario Theissen, who is the director of BMW Motorsport.
« In recognition of his achievements, we want to give Augusto the chance to test our F1 car for a few hours, as part of the preparatory phase for the Formula BMW World Final. »
« It also underscores our philosophy of creating links between our motorsport projects: After Jörg Müller, Dirk Müller, Andy Priaulx, and Alessandro Zanardi, Augusto Farfus will be the fifth driver to take the wheel of one of our cars, » concluded Theissen.
