The young Indian Karun Chandhok – new Isport driver for 2008 – expressed confidence for his upcoming season and his chances of reaching Formula 1 in 2009.
At 23 years old, Chandhok, who will be participating in his second season, signed with Isport International a few days ago, and the team was delighted to recruit a GP2 prospect.
« The GP2 represents a two-year plan for all drivers… » Commented Chandhok during a press conference on Wednesday, thus confirming his objective of F1 in 2009.
« Objectively, if we finish in the top five in the championship in 2008, I would undoubtedly be in a very good position to secure a place in F1 for 2009. »
Chandhok will be launched next month on the international stage by participating in the GP2 Asia series.
