Gronholm will want to return to competition

Marcus Gronholm, recently retired from the WRC with Ford, still wishes to continue driving, for example in testing.

The 38-year-old Finn spoke on this subject during a press conference yesterday at the Autosport International Show in London. He wants to continue practicing this sport and not lose his touch.

« Maybe I would like to one day do some testing to keep an idea of what the WRC is… » Gronholm stated.

« If I wanted to come back to rallying one day, for fun, it will be very difficult for me without keeping my hand in by training from time to time… »

« The other drivers compete all year. So it could be tricky for me to want to win, for example, in Finland, where the speeds are very high. »

« For now, I don’t feel the need to practice. I made the decision to be retired, and I have no intention of doing anything else for now, but you never know what might happen. Gronholm will continue this season by helping Ford as best as he can, as well as the team’s new recruit, the Finnish Latvala. Gronholm has also decided to ‘train’ a young talented Norwegian. He conducted some snow tests with him with the aim of bringing him into the WRC one day.
