Mercedes ready to maintain its second place in the constructors’ standings
Toto Wolff hopes that the second part of the season will be favorable for his team. Even if Mercedes will continue developing the 2024 car in parallel.
The holidays are over for everyone. It’s time to get back into the swing of things. After three weeks of rest, the Formula 1 cars are back in Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix. And this, much to the delight of Toto Wolff.
« We are coming back recharged and ready for the second part of the season. There are many reasons to fight and we will not give up. We will attack strongly in the battle for second place in the constructors’ championship. We will also push forward with development for 2024. These are challenges that excite us and start this weekend, announces the boss of the Mercedes team.
The Austrian will be present in the paddock, despite some injuries. During his vacation, the former driver fractured his elbow after a bike fall. This setback will not prevent him from enjoying the unique atmosphere of Zandvoort.
« It’s a fantastic place to kick off the season. It’s a challenging track with an old-school atmosphere, banked corners, and high-speed sections winding through the sand dunes. There’s always an incredible atmosphere with passionate Dutch supporters, and it’s always a fantastic celebration of our sport. I’m sure this year won’t be any different and I’m looking forward to getting there. »
