Parente and Bakkerud sign with Super-Nova!

Super Nova Racing confirmed today the presence of Alvaro Parente and Christian Bakkerud in their 2008 GP2 line-up.

The two new drivers replace Conway and Filippi, who had an unremarkable season in 2007 except for their first victory with Super-Nova in Bahrain, during the opening of the 2007 season.

The Portuguese Parente, winner of the World Series by Renault in 2007, commented: “I am really happy to have been able to accept this offer. I was short on budget, I needed to find more, and finally, everything was put in place so I could drive with Super-Nova in GP2.”

« Last year, I won a championship, which allowed me to reach GP2. Consequently, my goal will be to do the same this season to reach the higher grade! »

In 2005, in the British F3 Championship, Parente was accompanied by Bakkerud in the Carlin Motorsport team. Parente had then won the F3 title and was eager to reunite with his Danish colleague for 2008: « We have seen in the past, we work well together. So we are going to form a great team this season. »

The duo will be put to the test with the GP2 2008 for the first time at Paul Ricard at the end of this month for several days of testing.
