Guanyu Zhou has new engine components
The Chinese driver benefits from new components on his Alfa Romeo. He will not be penalized, even if he has reached the limit of the quotas set by the regulations.
A forthcoming change could be synonymous with grid penalities. During the first free practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix, Guanyu Zhou received numerous new parts.
Thus, Alfa Romeo has decided to install a fourth engine on the Chinese driver’s single-seater. But also a fourth turbo, a fourth MGU-H and a fourth MGU-K. For now, Valtteri Bottas’ teammate remains within the rules regarding the number of engine components used in a season.
He will therefore not be penalized, Sunday, on the starting grid. However, if he were to receive a new package again, he would receive a 10-place penalty.
