Paul di Resta has been confirmed, in this new season, to drive one of the four 2008 specification Mercedes DTM cars.

Last year, he was promoted to the HWA Mercedes team. His rookie year was impressive as he finished on the podium four times and ended up fifth in the championship with a two-year-old car.

The technical director of HWA, Gerhard Ungar, believes that the 21-year-old Scot is a future champion, but the title should not go to him this season due to a certain lack of experience.

« It’s a new year of learning for Paul. We should not place too high expectations on him because he is still too young, » said Ungar.

He can win races this year, but the main thing for him will be to gain experience with the team. He will undoubtedly be a champion in the future.
