Charles Leclerc is approaching a penalty for changing parts
The Monegasque driver has just received a fourth gearbox for this Zandvoort Grand Prix. He thus reaches the quota set by the regulations.
The mechanics will have to hold up. During the first half of the season, Charles Leclerc used three gearboxes. Proof that all the components of a Formula 1 car are put to the test. But, he cannot install as many as he would like.
The F1 regulations impose a maximum of four gearboxes per season. However, the Monégasque driver has just received his fourth gearbox during the Dutch Grand Prix. This means that at the next change, he will receive a five-place grid penalty.
Ferrari has also installed a fifth set of exhausts on their car, but they are still far from the limit allowed by the FIA.
