He got a stiff neck after his first day of testing on the Circuit de Catalunya. He decided it was better to rest this Tuesday rather than risk worsening the condition.
With Red Bull Racing keen to maximize its mileage for its two RB4s and Toro Rosso using only one car, it was obvious that Vettel would race alongside Mark Webber for the Austrian team.
Coulthard had to treat his neck and shoulder today, which are hindering him. He intends to return to the race tomorrow, although the final decision will only be made on Wednesday morning.
