David Coulthard returned to the thick of the action for the final day of testing in Barcelona, Spain, marking the end of pre-season tests.
The Scot was forced to rest yesterday, Tuesday, after developing a slight stiff neck during the first day of testing. The team decided it was better for him to rest for 24 hours rather than risk worsening the injury just days before the Australian Grand Prix.
This had resulted in seeing Sebastian Vettel from Toro Rosso at the wheel of the RB4, which was a first for the German driver.
Coulthard, after receiving treatment for his neck and shoulders throughout the day on Tuesday, felt much better this morning and decided to finish the event.
These events have therefore made Vettel happy, but for Red Bull Racing’s test driver, Sébastien Buemi, who went to Barcelona just in case, he must now doubt his role within the Austrian team…
