Alexandros Margaritis announced that he is retiring from the DTM series after three seasons in this discipline.

The ‘Greek-German’ driver, who joined the championship in 2005, admitted a few weeks ago that he felt frustrated for always having driven slightly aging single-seaters during his DTM career…

The 23-year-old driver said he would officially announce his decision in the near future.

« The retirement from DTM and the contract termination with Mercedes-Benz Motorsport is my own decision, » said Margaritis on the official DTM website.

« I will inform my fans about my intentions for the 2008 season in the near future. I am really looking forward to the new challenges that await me and I will face this decision. »

And I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mercedes-Benz Motorsport for their support and kindness over these three years.
