The three-time World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) champion trained this weekend in Sweden on a frozen lake, before heading off for the first round of the season in Brazil at Curitiba starting tomorrow.

Aboard a BMW 320 identical to the one he has been using in races for three years, the Briton joined an ice driving school in Stockholm and also took the wheel.

« I am always ready to try new things to best prepare for my season. » commented the Englishman.

« It’s important from time to time to step out of your domain in order to improve. I heard that Michael Schumacher had already tried it and found driving on ice much more difficult than on the track. Personally, I thought it was great, it’s a change, and I love having my left foot constantly on the brake… »

Priaulx will be the favorite this weekend; he won the 2006 event, but the competition from Seat will be felt with their victory last year.
