Standings after Zandvoort: Max Verstappen has a five-race lead over Sergio Perez
Thanks to his ninth consecutive victory at home, Max Verstappen is gaining even more ground on his teammate, Sergio Perez, who finished fourth in the race.
138 points ahead. The gap between the top two in the championship is considerable. Max Verstappen now has a five-race lead over his teammate. Even taking into account the remaining sprint races.
Behind the two Red Bull drivers, Fernando Alonso, thanks to his second place in Zandvoort, is gaining some ground on Lewis Hamilton. This Grand Prix does not allow us to separate Charles Leclerc, who had to retire, and George Russell, outside of the points after a contact with Lando Norris in the final laps.
Pierre Gasly takes a big step forward with his podium. He even moves ahead of his teammate, Esteban Ocon. The number 10 driver now occupies the 10th position in the drivers’ standings.
In the constructors’ standings, nothing changes. Except for Red Bull’s lead over the rest of the grid. Now, the Austrian team has a 285-point advantage over Mercedes and 325 over Aston Martin.
