Felipe Massa stated he is happy to see Fernando Alonso back with Renault rather than at the wheel of a McLaren MP4/23 this season.
A few days before the season opens with the Australian Grand Prix, the Brazilian states that the Spaniard’s team change has reduced the number of title contenders. According to Massa, the title will be contested between Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen, and himself.
« My main competitors will be Kimi and Hamilton, » he commented to the AFP news agency during a press conference in Brazil.
« If you isolate Alonso, it seems to me, for the moment, that he is less dangerous at Renault than at McLaren. The French team is not at the same level as the British team. »
The Scuderia’s preparations during the winter went well, and the one who finished 4th in the last championship sees no reason why he wouldn’t be among the contenders for victory in Melbourne.
