Super Aguri seems well positioned to start the new Formula 1 season, even though there has been no official information about a resolution to its financial difficulties.
The team powered by Honda was forced to miss several test sessions due to financial problems. Team boss Aguri Suzuki flew to Japan last month in search of new investors who would help secure their future.
Although there were rumors that the team could have been banned from F1 if the issue had not been addressed in time, confirmation of their retention came as the team began arriving in Melbourne this Sunday. All equipment is expected within the next 24 hours.
The presence of Super-Aguri in the paddocks almost certainly confirms that the team will indeed start the season. Its new car has not yet been tested and the drivers are still not officially confirmed.
The names of Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson are written above their garage in the pit lane at Melbourne, although the team can, in theory, change drivers up until the eve of free practice.
