Ferrari is already launching into the F2009!

With a new aerodynamic package, coupled with the likely return of slick tires, a number of teams are already working towards the 2009 season.

Ferrari’s sporting director, Stefano Domenicali, asserts that his team will have to ensure they work towards the year 2009 while improving the F2008.

« The new regulations in 2009 will lead to a significant evolution of the future car, whereas today the possibilities for changes are limited by the regulations, which have been in effect for many years, » he stated for the Gazzetta dello Sport.

« For more than a month now, there has been a model of the 2009 car at the aerodynamic level. We are currently conducting tests and, once again, we must transform them onto the track as soon as possible. »

« We will have to work in parallel on the developments of the car that is about to be launched. But the team is the same size as before!

Michael Schumacher, who participated in testing for Scuderia over the winter, could help Ferrari in its development program for the new car.

But Domenicali made it clear that his likely involvement in this project does not imply a full-time return of the seven-time world champion.

« There are always too many dangers in a comeback. Schumacher has the sense of challenge in his DNA, so today, he is fighting against that DNA! » Concluded the sporting director.
