Ferrari has just secured a three-year sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates.
Etihad Airways had signed a three-year contract with the former Spyker team at the beginning of last season, but after its acquisition by Vijay Mallya, who is the director of Kingfisher Airlines, it became evident that the agreement would be terminated.
Ferrari must now take this new partner into account. The airline’s logo will appear on the rear wing of the cars as well as on the drivers’ helmets.
The president of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo said: « We are happy to welcome this new partner, which will strengthen our ties with the United Arab Emirates. »
« The collaboration with Etihad Airways will bring us closer to Mubadala Development Company, which is already a sponsor and shareholder of the company.
