Confidence reigns at Ferrari despite appearances…

Felipe Massa is convinced that Ferrari has nothing to fear from the high temperatures awaiting them this weekend in Sepang, despite a double engine failure in Australia.

The Brazilian and his teammate Kimi Räikkönen experienced a difficult Australian weekend as both drivers retired due to engine failure. Some did not hesitate to say that these retirements could have been caused by higher than normal temperatures.

But Massa is optimistic that this situation will not happen again and that Ferrari is ready for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

« We are going to put new engines on the single-seaters and I am sure that we can do two races. It was not the temperature that affected our engines, there is something else that we need to discover very quickly, » he commented.

« We need to start a new championship with this Malaysian meeting. The championship is long, we know that, the points are very important. But we also know that many things can happen in all the races. »

Ferrari shipped their engines on the first plane to Maranello, their analysis base, to conduct a series of tests to precisely determine the problem with the aim of finding solutions in Malaysia.
