The president of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, paid tribute to Jean Todt, who stepped down from his position as CEO of Ferrari earlier this week.
Di Montezemolo thanks Todt, who gave up his status as team manager of the Formula 1 team at the end of last season, for his service to the brand. These few words appear in a letter addressed to Ferrari employees, which was also printed in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
« I would like to thank Jean for his effort, his passion, his competence because he has been an example for all his colleagues. I know him well, so I am not surprised by his desire to reduce his involvement within this great family that Ferrari represents. »
« He is a determined man, faithful to his word and principles. He succeeded in achieving the agreed-upon objectives when he became CEO. Today, he has decided to devote a bit more time to himself. »
Todt will remain in close contact with the Scuderia as he will, for example, be one of the brand’s representatives at FIA meetings in the World Motorsport Council.
