The FIA has renewed its contract with the Interlagos circuit to host the Brazilian Grand Prix until at least 2015.
In a report published today on the Sao Paulo Government’s website, where Interlagos is located, Gilberto Kassab confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile – FIA – to organize the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos for the next 7 Formula 1 seasons.
The Formula One GPs are the most important sporting events in the world for a circuit, stated Kassab, director of the Brazilian circuit.
« With the signing of this contract, we have ensured that the event will be organized for the next eight years (including 2008), which is a very good thing for the region and the circuit. »
This agreement was signed notably thanks to the significant program launched by the circuit in 2007 to renew the track, stands, and paddocks within a few years.
