Coulthard wants to put an end to his tensions with Massa

David Coulthard informed a British sports magazine that he wished to make peace with Felipe Massa in the coming days and move on.

The Red Bull and Ferrari drivers collided during the race last Sunday in Australia. At turn No. 1 midway through the race, the two drivers made contact while overtaking Massa, sending Coulthard’s Red Bull into the Australian scenery.

At the end of the weekend, the Briton had made very harsh remarks towards his Brazilian counterpart, stating that if he did not acknowledge all his faults, he would go tell him himself.

At the heart of the tensions, David Coulthard drew on his experience and wisdom by apologizing on Autosport’s microphone, admitting that he wanted to make peace, turn the page, and move forward with the Ferrari driver.

Coulthard reacted Thursday during the press conference: « I just wanted to put an end to what happened, apologize for the words used, and then continue on our way… »

« Although we couldn’t go back last weekend, I’m still a bit frustrated that the accident happened. There would have been better opportunities for him and me in the following laps to overtake each other and try a few things without too much risk… »
