Hirohide Hamashima – Director of Tire Development Bridgestone Motorsport:
« We are currently experiencing hot weather in Malaysia, but both our compounds, the Hards and the Mediums, have performed well. The new track surface is different from what we had before. Many drivers had to get used to this new type of grip. »
« Our tires performed better than expected on this new surface. Both compounds were used, with some drivers setting their best times today on Mediums and others on hard tires. This makes things interesting for the rest of the weekend. »
« We will now check the wear rate of our compounds and forward our data to the teams, then it will be up to them to decide their strategies for tomorrow and Sunday. »
