Todt, young retiree but active adviser!

The former Ferrari team principal, Jean Todt, has promised to do everything in his power to help Stefano Domenicali, his successor, adapt to his new role.

Todt, who was until the end of last year the head of sporting management for the Scuderia, now serves as an advisor to the team. He stated that he will provide Domenicali with all the necessary support to continue making Ferrari a winning team.

Speaking in Sepang, Todt said that his years of experience would be beneficial for Domenicali if he ever felt he needed them.

« It would be presumptuous to say that he needs my advice, » said Todt.

« But we are talking about a certain tension and pressure. Having someone trustworthy by your side to share emotions, doubts, and problems can only be a plus. »

« Often, retirement is synonymous with a public unburdening. That’s not my style, I want to continue to support and help Ferrari as much as it needs. »

Furthermore, the Frenchman expressed his views on the hot topic of the costs allocated to F1 teams. According to him, it’s the biggest challenge that Formula 1 will have to face in the future.

« The cost of Formula 1 is very high. We cannot ignore that there is an economic crisis in the world, as evidenced by stock prices. »

« If a company wants to be one of our partners, it’s because the costs are acceptable. So, even if the increase in costs has significantly eased over the past three or four years, they remain very important. FIA President Max Mosley has worked very hard, with the support of the teams, but there is still work to be done and it is challenge number one, » explained Todt.
