Adam Carroll, the Irish driver in the A1 Grand Prix Championship, admitted he is already focusing on the 2008-2009 season, during which he hopes to win the title with his country.
The 25-year-old Irishman is experiencing his first season with the A1 Team Ireland this year and has already won a race in Mexico a few months ago. The former GP2 driver has expressed eagerness for next season with the goal of winning the title and, importantly, securing more race victories, as he did in GP2 in past years. Carroll also mentioned that he is relying heavily on the future A1GP cars produced by Ferrari to improve his racing level.
« During my victory, we rewarded all the work done over several months, and it was an immense burden lifted from my shoulders when I crossed the finish line first! »
« It was a real relief. There are so many people who believe in us, but it is not always enough to drown out the remarks of all those who doubt you. We managed to win and that’s really the most important thing; knowing that we are capable! »
Of course, I am in favor of staying on the staff next season. The A1 GP is a great championship, and I am counting a lot on the new single-seaters and the team’s growth. Continues the Irishman.
« The A1GP does not seek to be anything other than a single-seater world championship. It remains as it was originally created. The circuits and the large amount of travel make this championship one of the best for starting a career. It’s a big family, and I think it is not about to stop there! »
