Hamilton retried … Hamilton convicted once again!

Lewis Hamilton has just been fined 450 pounds (approximately 550 euros) by a French court for speeding. He was caught last year driving at 122 miles per hour (about 200 km/h) in a Mercedes near Laon in the north of France.

The McLaren driver had already been fined and banned from driving in France for a month for the initial offense, but received an additional penalty after a new hearing.

Although Hamilton was not present at the hearing, his lawyer, Jean-François Veroux, stated that his client had offered to participate in a road safety campaign.

The words of Veroux were reported by the news agency AFP: « For Hamilton, it’s as if he made a mistake during a Grand Prix, as he is aware of his responsibility towards the youth. »
