Renault has undertaken a restructuring of its technical department with Dirk de Beer succeeding Dino Toso as the technology director of aerodynamics.
Toso remains, according to the latest news, an employee of the French team. No valid reason has been provided by the team.
A Renault statement said: « We can confirm that the responsibilities of Dino Toso have been taken over by the current head of aerodynamics, Dirk De Beer. »
« However, Dino Toso remains an employee of the company, but we cannot make further comments on his future position. »
Toso was at Jordan before joining Renault at the end of 2000. He was promoted to head of aerodynamics in 2003, but was diagnosed with cancer.
He remained with the team while battling the illness. He played a crucial role in securing Renault’s world titles in 2005 and 2006. Midway through last year, he was appointed the role of Aerodynamics Technical Director.
