Michael Herck, a driver in the GP2 Series, will have to stay out for some time and will not be able to compete in the first race of the season in Barcelona in a week. The Belgian broke his wrist in a collision in Bahrain.
The 19-year-old driver participated in the first season of the GP2 ASIA with the FMS International team, led by Giancarlo Fisichella. As such, the Belgian took part two weeks ago in the races on the Middle Eastern circuit, where he broke his wrist. During a collision with Milos Pavlovic, Herck hit a curb and struck a wall. It was while holding the steering wheel that, after a violent impact, the bone broke.
Herck also missed the last GP2 ASIA race last week where he was replaced by Roldan Rodriguez.
For the summer season, the Belgian hopes to return for the second event in Istanbul on May 10 and 11.
In the Series version, the Belgian is a driver for DPR. The boss, David Price, has not yet announced his replacement.
