The director of the World Automobile Organization will need someone strong and experienced if Max Mosley, the current president, is replaced after the June meeting.
This is the opinion of Ferrari’s president, Luca di Montezemolo, who believes that the FIA will have to find a replacement who is as reliable as Mosley.
Speaking in the columns of Gazzetta dello Sport, di Montezemolo refused to judge Mosley’s behavior after revelations about his private life.
But he indicates very clearly that Mosley’s successor will need to be highly qualified in the automotive industries among others.
When asked if Mosley could continue his role at the head of the FIA after what happened, di Montezemolo said: « I think it’s unlikely, but I believe it depends on him and his personality. »
However, if he leaves the FIA, the new leader must have the same level of experience, competence, personality, and reliability.
« If I look at what Max has done in recent years on the issue of security, I see only positive things. If he leaves his position, we will need someone like him. »
