The new Silverstone circuit would be ready on time

The ‘British Racing Drivers Club’ (BRDC) stated on Thursday that it plans to complete the new Silverstone circuit and mainly the pit area for the 2010 Grand Prix on schedule.

The plan involves moving the paddocks between the Club and Abbey corners. This change will require a reconfiguration of the track.

BRDC President Damon Hill believes that the new complex will allow Silverstone to keep its Grand Prix beyond 2010.

« I am delighted to announce that we are finalizing our plans to build new paddocks for the 2010 race, » explained Hill.

Personally, I am both impressed and proud of the BRDC’s commitment, with all the members of our team engaged in this project.

« The BRDC shares the desire and enthusiasm of thousands of British fans, and we are doing everything in our power to keep a national Grand Prix. »
