Summary – Friday – Super Aguri in turmoil… lets go

Super-Aguri was uncertain about attending the Spanish Grand Prix, the first European Grand Prix of the 2008 season. The Japanese team learned last week about the withdrawal of an offer from a sponsor intended to get the bankrupt team back on track.

With the increasingly weak support from Honda, the team was still able to come to the Barcelona circuit, the site of the team’s first point recorded in Formula 1 last year.

Takuma Sato – 21st and 21st:

« I am happy to finally be back in Barcelona. This is a track where I haven’t set foot since last year when we scored our first point! « We are always striving for performance, but even with that, we are very far… We will do everything to be more efficient tomorrow, I know the whole team is giving 100%! »

Anthony Davidson – 22nd and 22nd:

« We have lived through a very mentally challenging week but we are very supportive of each other. »

Graham Taylor – Sporting Director:

« We are happy to be back in Barcelona where we scored our first point last year. We didn’t show much progress in the morning, but we found some good ways to improve in the afternoon. We managed to better understand the car and, above all, manage the tires much better. I really want to thank the whole team for what they are doing right now, despite the tough times we’ve been through… »
