Many stables are bringing new engines
Ferrari, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Alpine, and AlphaTauri have brought new parts for this Italian Grand Prix. No driver will be penalized.
The list of new engine parts is long. Very long. For this Italian Grand Prix, five teams have brought new components. First, Mercedes with a fourth engine, a fourth turbo, as well as new MGU-H and MGU-K for George Russell. The British driver is reaching the limit of the number of parts allowed in one season.
Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Valtteri Bottas, Liam Lawson, and Yuki Tsunoda also benefit from these same new parts. They all remain within the quota set by the FIA regulations. They will only have to hope for reliability. Indeed, if another one of these parts were to be installed, a 10-place grid penalty would be imposed.
Esteban Ocon benefits from a fourth turbocharger for this Italian event. The Frenchman will also have to deal with this component until the end of the season to avoid receiving a penalty.
George Russell and Fernando Alonso received their third gearbox during the first free practice session at Monza. They are still within the limits as the maximum allowed is four gearboxes in one season.
