Turkish GP – Difficult Weekend for Bridgestone

HIROHIDE Hamashima – Director of Bridgestone Motorsport:

« The city of Istanbul presents a wide range of turns. It is a very challenging track for setting up the single-seaters but also for maximizing tire potential. »

« In Istanbul, we face very high G-forces. For this race, we are bringing our hardest tires. Historically, we have experienced high temperatures in Turkey, but the postponement of this event to May should result in lower temperatures. »

« Last year, we saw that some drivers were experiencing issues with their tires, so we made changes to the tire design to minimize the chances of them reoccurring. »

« This circuit is not only a challenge for our tires, it is also because the drivers will be running counter-clockwise unlike most of the tracks on the calendar. »
