Turkish GP – Standings after the 5th GP 2008

At the end of this Turkish Grand Prix, the 5th round of the Formula 1 World Championship, Räikkönen, by scoring 6 points, maintains his leading position ahead of Hamilton, who is now just 7 points behind the Finn, as well as Felipe Massa, who is now delivering good performances after a poor start to the season (35 against 28). The mid-season promises to be thrilling. [Standings]

Behind the leading trio, the Pole Kubica, while scoring 5 points, now has 24 points and is four points short of the podium. No changes thereafter, as Heidfeld and Kovalainen remain in 4th and 6th place, respectively.

A little further down, the competition is tight, but tonight it’s Webber in 7th with 10 points, followed by Trulli and Alonso who each have 9. The Spaniard gains two places compared to Spain. Rosberg is now only 10th with 8 points.

Nakajima, Button, and Bourdais still bring up the rear by not scoring any points in Turkey.

In the constructors’ standings, this time, there is no change to report in the top 4 positions. Ferrari adds 16 points and literally soars, currently with 63 points. McLaren-Mercedes remains two points behind BMW (42 against 44).

Williams sees its opponents coming back as Red Bull (10 points) dethrones Toyota from its 5th place. The Japanese team is tied with Renault (9 points). Honda and Toro Rosso still have 3 and 2 points respectively.
