Hamilton will wear Reebok…

The management team at McLaren confirmed that Lewis Hamilton was in discussions with Reebok, which produces sports apparel, regarding personal sponsorship with the Briton.

According to some sources, Reebok is about to agree on a deal that will see Hamilton become one of its ambassadors alongside other sports stars like Thierry Henry or Andrei Shevchenko.

Although McLaren has always refused to allow its drivers to accept a private sponsorship offer, the team stated that they were fully informed of the discussions and that Reebok showed no reluctance about a potential partnership.

A spokesperson for McLaren stated: « We can confirm that Lewis Hamilton and his father, Anthony, are in discussions with Reebok regarding a sponsorship contract for Lewis. »

« Vodafone McLaren Mercedes has been in close contact with Anthony and Lewis throughout these discussions. »

« Consequently, any activity undertaken by Lewis Hamilton on behalf of Reebok will not be compatible with his existing obligations within McLaren Mercedes. »
