Aston Martin has broken a curfew

There were overtime hours in the garages. Indeed, according to the FIA stewards, the Aston Martin garage was still open on Friday evening. The team’s mechanics had to work on one of the two cars used by Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso.

This means that they are using one of the two permitted jokers as stipulated by the International Automobile Federation regulations. « Last night, the staff of the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team, involved in the car’s operation, were present inside the circuit during the eleven and a half hour period that started at 10 p.m. on September 1, fourteen and a half hours before the scheduled start time of FP3, and ends three hours before the scheduled start time of the third free practice session, at 9:30 a.m. on September 2 », confirms the FIA.

If Aston Martin were to break two more curfews, both drivers would be forced to start from the pit lane.
