Felipe Massa remains stunned after securing pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Ferrari driver set a time of 1’15”787 in Q3, securing his third pole of the season and the 12th of his career ahead of Sunday’s race.
« I still can’t believe I’m on pole. It’s incredible, » commented Massa.
Massa, who narrowly beat his teammate Kimi Räikkönen, added that his final lap was perfect.
« I thought that Räikkönen and Hamilton would be ahead, but I was also thinking about improving my own performance to achieve a perfect lap. In Monaco, it is almost impossible to do a perfect lap. »
Despite his pole position, the Brazilian admitted that the race will be difficult, especially if there’s a risk of rain.
« Tomorrow will be another much more complex day. There are a lot of problems to consider, such as the rain that could appear at any moment. »
