The request for a new paddock at the Silverstone circuit has been approved by the municipal council. This request follows Bernie Ecclestone’s demands to raise the level of the facilities.
The stands and paddocks would be moved from their current location between Woodcote and Copse to be positioned between Club and Abbey.
These two corners would be reconfigured, with a new paddock, garages, a race control building, a media center, and reception.
Future plans for the development of Silverstone will also include the construction of a business center, sports facilities, a leisure complex, and a university campus over the next 10 years.
The managing director of Silverstone, Richard Phillips, stated: « We are absolutely delighted that the planning committee voted unanimously in favor of this development project. »
« This is a turning point for Silverstone. The current schedule plans to start working on-site a little later in the year. »
