To all Renault fans, have no fear…

Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn stated that the French manufacturer will remain in Formula 1 for many more years, even if the team has been struggling since its two titles in 2005 and 2006.

« Give up as a loser? Never. In any case, we will stay in F1 for many more years, » stated Ghosn to Gazzetta dello Sport.

This year, the team’s results are worse than at the same stage last season, despite the return of double world champion Fernando Alonso.

Ghosn admitted he is not satisfied with the current situation but is confident that the team will counterattack in the second half of the season.

« The fruits of our efforts on the track will be felt in the second part of the season. It is clear that I am not happy with these results, » he added.

He also congratulated the FIA for its involvement in the attempt to reduce costs but denies that Renault spends less money than its competitors.

« We like the FIA’s cost reduction policy, but it’s not true that we spend less than others, otherwise we wouldn’t have been world champions twice in the past three years. »

« Fernando is very important. He was able to explain his motivations and give us his advice. He is a fighter and an honest person. It is up to us to provide him with a good car. I am sure he will stay with us, » commented Ghosn on the Alonso case.
