Mosley remains in command of the FIA

The president of the FIA, Max Mosley, won the vote of confidence today during the General Assembly meeting in Paris.

After a vote by the delegates, Mosley won a majority of votes in favor of continuing his term.

A press release from the FIA confirmed that Mosley won by 103 votes to 55. There were seven abstentions and four null votes during this secret ballot.

Mosley is not supposed to make a statement about this vote of confidence.

Full text of the FIA statement:

During the Extraordinary General Assembly held today in Paris, the members belonging to the FIA voted on a motion of confidence regarding the FIA president.

The FIA members voted as follows:

For the motion: 103

Against the motion: 55

Abstentions: 7

4 null votes

This vote within the FIA was conducted by secret ballot. The votes were counted privately by the FIA’s legal department, in the presence of four assessors, chosen from a list of delegates who attended this meeting.

The entire voting procedure was supervised by a Bailiff.
