Testing – Day 3 – Is the Renault team ready for the French GP?

Renault concluded its testing in Barcelona today at the Circuit de Catalunya. The sky was slightly overcast this morning, but the track remained dry, and the sun appeared in the afternoon.

Nelson Piquet was still at the wheel to prepare the car for the upcoming French Grand Prix. He finished the day with the best time. The team continued its aerodynamic developments and work on the suspensions. They also carried out qualifying simulations at the end of the day.

After three productive days, the team is now focusing on the upcoming French Grand Prix. On Renault’s home turf, Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet will be eager to deliver strong performances.

Nelson Piquet:

« Once again, we completed our program without encountering any difficulties and we learned a lot today. We continued the tests we started yesterday by trying several new elements that the team hopes to use in upcoming races. I also had the opportunity to do some qualifying simulations this afternoon and everything went well again. It’s a good thing, of course, to be at the top of the timesheets, but these are just tests, so they should be considered with caution. »

Christian Silk – Chief Test Engineer:

« As yesterday, we had a good day of testing without encountering any problems, and once again, Nelson was able to complete more than 100 laps. This allows us to conclude this session with plenty of data to analyze in the coming days, in order to approach the French Grand Prix as prepared as possible. In general, the overall assessment of these three days of work in Barcelona is positive. »
